Video 6: Finding a Bullseye Domain Name for Your Next Website or Blog

In this video you’ll see how to use keyword research and question-based search terms to help you choose a theme-related domain name for your next website or blog. Then you can drill down a bit more to find related topics to write on, all of which will relate to your keyword ‘bullseye’. (Note: this idea has been adapted from Glenn Livingston’s keyword ‘bullseye’ concept). Having a ‘bullseye’ keyword-based domain name works well for this, and nicely pulls together what we have learned up to this point.  Be sure to opt in on the right to see more videos, and submit any comments or questions below.

A few thoughts on this one…

First, do keyword-based domain names help with Google rankings?

Some say “yes”, others say “no”. I wouldn’t put too much weight into this factor.

However, when people start linking to your domain and include closely related keywords in their anchor text, that does help. And having a bullseye theme for your website or blog will help you to create a relevant internal linking structure, providing better rankings and a better user experience.

Of course, all of this assumes that you can write good content worthy of being linked to and ranked well. Roxanne, who is a professional content writer, has some tricks up her sleeve for writing good content (not spinning, not PLR, not some rehashed junk). We’ll be revealing them in future CK Pro training modules.

  • This is incredible!!! Looking forward to playing with this and adding value to domain name choices. Great job on this, keep up the good work.

Thanks, Jason. We also have another domain tool up our sleeve that will be released very soon! It will be good for advanced PPC tactics, CPV/PPV advertising, and other market research tasks.

  • I recently found this particular website at http://www.theblogcommentator.com that provides a great deal of comments very cheap, is that a product you’ll recommend or should I steer clear ?

      Tora,

Personally, I don’t like these things and cannot tell how effective they will be in the long run. Even if this approach does work, do not get too comfortable using it. There is no guarantee that it will continue to work for the long run since Matt Cutts and the Google anti-web-spam team are actively working to rid their system of such things.

There are smarter ways to get links, and our upcoming tools will help users to make more intelligent decisions in terms of where best to apply their efforts.
